Montagu Pass Photographs
The Montagu Pass, opened in 1840 and built by Henry Fancourt White and a team of 250 convicts, crosses the Outeniqua mountains just outside George in the Western Cape South Africa. This historic gravel pass is still in use today although the main traffic to George makes use of the modern Outeniqua Pass across the valley.
