We’d ridden from a little place called Barn62 Backers a short way down Route 62, and then right on to the Seweweekspoort road. The going was rather tough and the 25km ride took its toll on the legs, leaving us a little uneasy about the return trip and wondering if we’d get back by dark. What we hadn’t realized was that we had been climbing for those 25km. Gently climbing all the way. What a delight to discover that the ride back was virtually all downhill. 😊😊😊. What was even more delightful were the ice cold beers and gin and tonics that Rhenda served up at Barn62 on our return. 😄😄😄

I know they are invasive and can cause huge problems on farm land but the berries of brambles make a wonderful mid ride snack in summer.
One of our favorite trees - the Cape Chestnut, found in many of the indigenous forests around South Africa.
